All faust2pd-generated patches have a number of signal inlets and outlets corresponding to the number of audio inputs and outputs of the DSP. In this case there is no audio input and just one audio output. The generated patch also has a number of GUI elements for operating the controls of the Faust unit \, including the two special buttons in the upper-right corner for reverting all controls to their defaults and turning the unit on and off.; #X text 277 184 The leftmost inlet is for control messages which allow you to change the control values of the unit. E.g. \, passing a "play 1" message will operate the "play" button of this unit \, and passing "attenuation 0.01" will set the attenuation control. This allows you to apply presets or automate the operation of the unit. All units also pass through control messages from the leftmost inlet to the leftmost outlet so that control can flow along with the audio signal through an entire chain of Faust modules. This allows the "panpot" and "Wet" messages at the top of this patch to be routed through "karplus" and "dbmeter" to the "panpot" and "freeverb" units below.; #X text 195 358 Here we pass the audio output of the karplus unit to a dB meter written in Faust \, which simply passes through the audio signal to its signal outlet. This unit has only one "passive" control which just shows a value computed by the unit. Values of passive controls are updated every 40 ms by default. You can change this by sending a value to the global "faust-timer" receiver.; #X msg 495 440 \; faust-timer 10; #X connect 0 0 2 0; #X connect 0 1 2 1; #X connect 1 0 5 0; #X connect 1 1 5 1; #X connect 1 2 5 2; #X connect 2 0 1 0; #X connect 2 1 1 1; #X connect 4 0 0 0; #X connect 5 1 3 0; #X connect 5 2 3 1; #X connect 9 0 8 0; #X connect 11 0 0 0; #X connect 13 0 0 0; #X connect 14 0 0 0;
